Structure of the Company
 The legal predecessor of our company - Somogyi Erdõ- és Fafeldolgozó Gazdaság (SEFAG); English name: Somogyi Forest Management and Timber Processing Company – was established on 1st January 1970 by merging of Északsomogyi Állami Erdõgazdaság (North –Somogy State Forest Management Company) in Zamárdi, Délsomogyi Állami Erdõgazdaság (South-Somogy State Forest Management Company) in Kaposvár and Délmagyarországi Fûrészüzemek Vállalat (Sawing Plants in South-Hungary) in Barcs. The legal predecessor had 87 116 ha forest and significant timber industrial capacity. Number of employees in the year of establishment was over 5500. It was one of the most important forest management companies.
After some modifications in the company structure the most important change was completed in 1993 when the legal predecessor - Somogyi Erdészeti és Faipari Rt. (SEFAG Rt.). Somogyi Forestry and Timber Industry Joint Stock Company - was established. The Company’s subscribed capital at time of establishment was 1,271,040.- thousand HUF that became in 100 % the property of the founding partner the Hungarian State Holding Company.
After changing the company remained a determinant one in Somogy County; in the region and even in Hungarian forest management. Although in different form but it is one of the biggest employer in the county. In addition to our employees SEFAG Zrt employs entrepreneurs, too.
At present SEFAG Zrt is responsible for managing 80 753 ha state forest and other state areas and makes efforts to save both material and immaterial assets; to increase the value of the forest stand and to utilise the forests optimally for the society.
Repository of the professional management of the forest stand and stock of game in Somogy County is the well-trained and committed foresters and hunters.
Forest management is carried out by eight forestry units, as follows:

- Forestry in Zselic,
- Forestry in Kaposvár,
- Forestry in Lábod,
- Forestry in Barcs,
- Forestry in Iharos,
- Forestry in Nagybajom,
- Forestry in Marcali,
One part of the timber material produced by our forests is used in our wood industrial plant in Mesztegnyõ as well as in Csurgó Wood Industrial Ltd (CS-FA Kft.) owned in 100 % by our company.
Seed and sapling production is carried out by "SEFAG Mag-Csemete" Termelõ és Kereskedelmi Kft. ("SEFAG Mag-Csemete" Kft.) in Kõkút - Gyöngyöspuszta, which is in 100 % the property of our company. Propagation materials are coordinated by Central Unit of SEFAG Zrt. in Kaposvár.
